It is my first time visiting Beavertail State Park. I wasn't planning on shooting the lighthouse at the time just because I felt like it is a sunrise location. I was there scouting around and hoping to find a composition with a seascape scene but the sunset was a bit disappointing. It was a very cloudy day and not much was going on with the scene in front of me so I was about to pack up and leave. As I was walking back I saw the light and colors started to pop right behind the lighthouse. I knew this moment will be passed by really quickly so I rushed over to try to compose my shot. It was just less than 5 minutes after I took this shot and the light disappeared. In landscape photography, things will never go as planned, but as long as you are there. There will always be a chance to capture that perfect shot.
